Instructional Technology
Instructional technology is aimed
at promoting and bridging the gap between technology's
perceived potential and its effective classroom use.
The goal is to infuse technology-based strategies into
instructional delivery to better prepare students for
future learning and work experiences. Instructional
Technology Specialist are available in the MIT department
to guide and assist the Spelman community with the
following:
- Promote
and
support
faculty
exploration
with
interactive
technology
and
electronic
course
management
systems
for
the
development
of
technology-based
and
web-enhanced
courses.
- To
create
competencies
in
the
use
of
educational
software
materials.
- To
train
and
facilitate
audiovisual,
videoconferencing,
and
distance
learning
initiatives.
- To
encourage
collaborative
partnerships
through
utilization
of
distance
learning
channels.
- To
document
and
disseminate
technology
information
for
better
utilization
of
multimedia
and
learning-based
technologies.
