Sandra K. Jones, C'2011, is a biochemistry major who is doing what she can to help protect and preserve America's wetlands. This summer she served as an intern with the Student Conservation Association and created an innovative summer program for children at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach, Va.

SSGA and ARAMARK Team Up to Offer
Full Semester Meal Plan Scholarships

For the first time, ARAMARK, Spelman College's food services provider, will award 16 full semester meal plan scholarships to students during the
2008-2009 academic year. The Spelman Student Government Association, in conjunction with ARAMARK, will select the scholarship recipients on the basis of merit and need.


Spelman Launches New
Chinese Language Courses

The College will launch its new Chinese language and culture courses this fall as a part of the interdisciplinary curriculum established by the Lehman Brothers Center for Global Finance and Economic Development at Spelman College. The courses will be taught by native Mandarin speaker Zhengbin (Richard) Lu, Ed.D.
